The fifth exception to Gamp’s Law of Elemental Transfiguration is information. It is impossible to create information. This means that it is impossible to do something that you have not learned or know. For example, you cannot cast the Patronus Charm without having learned it or know what it is. If it was as easy to transfigure information no one would have to go to school because we would already know everything and are heads would explode with all the information coming in at once.
