Shaffer Douglas grew up in England and started playing quidditch for Slytherin while at Hogwarts. Long graduated, he has played professional quidditch one and off, for almost a decade. His current assignment is with the Arrows where he plays Keeper. This last summer he was named Captain. Vibrant personality and nice smile mean he's routinely in the papers and has been linked with a string of women over the years (not all true).
Nearly always dressed to kill in fitted suits, the "prodigal son" of Appleby has always been known as play boy. Frequenting bars and favoring drinks and beautiful woman most days. He’s been known to get in plenty of bar fights of which was rumored to have caused his removal from the Appleby squad. He's said to be back now though; Just without his prized captain 'C' on his jersey. He seems a bit tamer now; probably due to his budding relationship with once-teammate Aria Byrne. It's actually rumored that the two had their first child together but no one has caught sight of the little Quidditch Princess. Will Mitch remain the reformed family man or will he revert back to his man whore ways? Only time will tell.
Born and raised in England River attended Hogwarts till the age of 14 where she was diagnosed with Cancer. Her parents moved her to Africa for a cure they had heard about. Within 2 years she was in remission and attending Uagadou. Even with the cancer gone River chose to stay in Africa, graduated and joined the Tanzanian Quidditch Team. She was signed to a 3 year contract with them and instead of renewing her contract she was sent to the Appleby Arrow's on a free transfer. She made the move due to the fact that she missed her family terribly and they had moved to Scotland of which gave River the perfect opportunity to come back to her family and reconnected with everyone.
Michael Shaw was, at the height of his career, considered one of the best Beaters to be playing Quidditch, if not the best. He was the top prospect out of Hogwarts when he graduated having played for the Gryffindor team five years running. But after his early retirement due to the death of his fiancée, the public is sceptical than he can return to his former status as one of the premier Beaters. He is seen as a charming and confident guy by the masses, but some worry that he doesn’t take the game seriously enough as he is often seen out on the town partying. What they don’t see is that he spends every other moment working hard to be the best beater he can be.
With more than a decade of experience, Gemma's an old stand-by on the Catapults and is known for being a fierce competitor with a wicked swing. Originally from England, Gemma moved to Wales after she graduated, when she made the reserves, and has climbed the Catapults ladder all the way to earning her position as captain a few seasons ago. She takes the sport very seriously and pushes her team to succeed, though most who interview her can agree that off the pitch, she's a charmer with an easy sense of humor. The gossip magazines like to frame her as being prone to the occasional bar fight and also in a secret relationship with Appleby Arrows Captain, Shaffer Douglas--both rumors that are based in varying degrees of truth.
Callum Jasper Aiken has been a bit of a mystery since he got his first big break as a reserve seeker for the Tutshill Tornadoes shortly after graduating from Slytherin house. At twenty-one he was moved up to the primaries, and two years later, the Tornadoes became the third team in the league, thrusting Callum, begrudingly, into the spotlight. However, after the attacks and a run of bad luck, Callum left the Tornadoes the following year to join the Caerphilly Catapults - who were consequently named the league champions. Even still, Aiken avoids attention where he can, wishing to focus on the game rather than the fame. About a year ago, Callum gained custody of his younger sister. He is currently dating Holyhead Harpies captain, Ella Davenport.
Novem is one of the newer players to take to the field as a full-time player for the Caerphilly Catapults, and appears to be thoroughly enjoying himself there. He likes to think he gets on well with everyone on the team, even if he is a little bit dozy thanks to a few too many bludgers to the head. He's not the sharpest knife in the drawer (in fact, he's probably not a knife at all, but a spoon) but he's good at what he does. He's fond of showmanship, and likes to work in a few reckless stunts and tricks while he has nothing to do, feinting and weaving his way as close to the snitch as he can get. He enjoys the limelight a little bit more than he probably should, particularly the attention of the ladies, but hasn't openly attached himself to anyone for the time being. In terms of his love life, he prefers to keep that to himself, since he rather likes the idea of fangirls daydreaming about his single status. . .
He was born in France and attened Beauxbatons. Emmanuel is the youngest Captain in Quidditch being only 21.He has an older brother Carter who is a Magizologist His love of the sport is something he has had all of his life. Emmanuel had been known as a ladies man off the field but now his heart belongs to Emma Pratt. The young Captain is also known for having a love/hate relationship with the press as at times he finds them annoying and his lashing out in the past has gotten him some headlines. But if there is one group he loves it is the fans. Emmanuel knows if it was not for them he would not have a job.Hearing them cheer for him and the sport warms his heart and makes him smile.
Chandler was born and raised in Plymouth, he came from a foster family, unaware - and still is - that his mother died. He was raised by his guardian alongside his brother Ryan and was sorted into Slytherin when he went to Hogwarts. He is young, but he is determined to be the best person and player he could be. Chandler is following his dream of becoming a Quidditch player.
Red isn't a very outgoing person. People probably barely know him. He's a reserve, and he's reserved. Though the most common things people would know is he's cute, a Villein, shy, and very good when he plays. He's an all around athlete and it shows. Sure there are a few candid camera ops of him out there with no shirt.
Growing up in an Italian Pureblood family, her father, and brother didn’t want her to play because she was a lady. Ella had managed to be a lady and get down and dirty with the Quidditch sport. When she started Hogwarts she waited patiently until her second year, then she tried out and was put onto the reserves as Seeker for Slytherin team. In her third year Kilian Wilde (her captain) pulled her up onto the Main roster. From that moment on she never looked back, not even once. In her fifth year she was named Captain of the team and retained that title until she graduated. Upon graduation she joined the reserves of Holyhead Harpies. In her second year, the current seeker retired early, and left an opening for Ella. She slipped into the spot effortlessly, and was on the main roster from then on. When she was 21 she was named Captain of the Holyhead Harpies, one of the youngest captains currently in the game. She is now 23 and shows no signs of slowing down. She is also currently dating fellow Quidditch player Callum Aiken of the Caerphilly Catapults.
Maya Ward first appeared on the UK quidditch scene over two years ago and has become a household name. The witch has made the Harpies starting team last season and has been on the roll since, in more ways than one. Openly unapologetic, Maya has become a staple name on the partying circuit and has enjoyed a lot of media attention for things that have nothing to do with the quidditch pitch. Linked with more people than probably anyone else in the public eye, Maya is however still dedicated to the game and puts in the work during practices and games, and has choice words for anyone suggesting otherwise.
Born in Northern Ireland, Gwen came from a family of Irish wizards who hold conservative values. From her childhood, she was always getting into one thing or another, closely watched by her older brother Cillian. Considering how fast she came out of her mother's womb, she jokes that she was born flying and her fascination with Quidditch started as early at the age of five. She’s played all of the positions except for Seeker and while she had a decent right arm with a Beater’s bat, Chaser was her calling. Her hair changes at least once a month, never staying one color for too long, and she can always be recognized on the pitch as that Chaser with the bright arse colors and a good throw.
A Durmstrang graduate and son of a custom broom-maker originating from Baden-Baden, Germany, Wolfram found a love for flying early on in life. His introduction to Quidditch began in his fourth year when a classmate urged him to try out for a team and from then on, Wolfram never looked back.
While his primary position has always been that of Seeker, Wolfram has a diverse skill set and was originally recruited by the Kenmare Kestrels straight out of Durmstrang as a reserve Chaser with occasional cross-training with the Seekers. By the time he was twenty, a series of trades and injuries required him to step up and Wolfram seamlessly slid into the full time position of starting Seeker for the Kenmare Kestrels and has held the position ever since, becoming known by fans as ‘Hermes’ due to a certain interview and his deft movements on the pitch.
A respected player of the game, Wolfram’s demeanour can come off as withdrawn and apathetic. Whether he’s emerged victorious or been defeated in a game, Wolfram has a reputation of being nigh unshakable when it comes to his calm and near emotionless facade.
Born to Japanese and Korean parents, Rikuto is a new arrival to the UK. Educated at Mahoutokoro, Rikuto does not know many people outside of his family and friends. He followed his cousin to the UK once he graduated and was scouted by the Irish-based Kenmare team.
Rikuto speaks little in the way of the English and can misunderstand people a lot. He is a polite boy with a habit of stealing things and picking pockets but is trying his best to curb this habit. So far he has managed to stay of trouble in the UK, but it is still early days yet.
Stella Kennedy was a highly touted Quodpot prospect before making the switch to Quidditch during her last year at Ilvermorny. After a successful athletic career as a Wampus, Stella was drafted by both an American Quodpot team and the Montrose Magpies of the English and Irish Quidditch League. She has played for the Magpies ever since graduating and currently serves as the team's captain. Many perceive Stella as one of the dirtier players in the league and certainly one of the most aggressive. Even off of the pitch she isn't exactly the most approachable type. There are also rather prominent rumors that the quidditch captain prefers the fairer sex.
Kaitlin is new on the professional Quidditch scene, recruited straight out of 4 years on Hogwarts’ Gryffindor team, but she’s made her mark as a Keeper to watch after her rookie season, despite the performance of the Magpies as a whole. Her reputation has taken on somewhat of a poised party girl stance with a flair for risky endeavors off the field, and she divides the rest of her free time between training, more training, and charitable functions of the Magpies.
One of the best beating prospects to come out Hogwarts for years, Felix was drafted first overall by the Cannons. After five disappointing and controversy filled seasons in Chudley, his quidditch career has found new life with the Montrose Magpies. The quidditch star had previously earned a bit of a reputation as a playboy and partier but he has toned it down in recent years. Still, he certainly isn't afraid to have fun, however the media has portrayed him as more of a fun loving joker than the hard partier he used to be. There are currently rumors that he is romantically involved with fellow Magpies teammate, Kaitlin Ward - he has declined comment on the subject.
Born and raised in Ireland, Freya would make her parents proud by becoming one of the world's most sought after Seekers-- she rose to it through playing Quidditch for Hufflepuff as their seeker before being scouted and eventually drawing up a deal with the Montrose Magpies. While some might choose this sort of profession for either the fame, money, or both that's not why Freya is where she is. The young woman is playing because she loves the game, nothing more. Though, the fame, money, and adoring fans are most certainly a bonus! Sweet and always eager to meet and please fans, she's not one to shy from the limelight-- and with how beautiful she is, who could blame her? Tabloids and gossiping fans, however, still have their fun speculating about her as there are rumors floating around that she's involved with not one, but two men-- sources say she's been seen with Noah Basisk, of Basisk Exploration and Logan Carmichael, a healer at St. Mungos. However, both the seeker and her management has declined to divulge any details, if any, about her relationship with either men or her love life as a whole.
Grin was picked up as a reserve for the Appleby Arrows after he graduated from Hogwarts. With a Chaser on the Arrows out for an injury, Grin was able to play for a majority of his time as a reserve and earned the title of Fastest Chaser in the League by the season's end.
Putting his family first, Grin left his position as a pro-quidditch player and disappeared from the media until his spontaneous tryout for the Montrose Magpies in July 2053, stunning quidditch circles with his sudden reappearance after a decade of life outside the limelight. He has received some backlash for his father's role as a blacklisted individual within the wizarding community, but has successfully kept the focus on his own deeds rather than those of his father.
As a metamorphmagus, Grin Thrane is known for displaying vibrant colors to match his vibrant personality. He is generally considered by the public as a genuine, caring, and devoted underdog from his recent interviews with the press. His status as an eligible bachelor is well-known by his fans, and his long-time friendship with Arrows Captain Shaffer Douglas has many of the quidditch-obsessed scratching their heads regarding his spot on the Magpies--spawning speculative rumors of hidden romances, rivalries, and tension between the two players. Grin has also personally helped train some of the best Hogwarts players over the last ten years, and is known to most Hogwarts Students, Staff, and Hogsmeade locals as an amicable waiter, bar tender, and confidant at the Three Broomsticks Inn.
Overall, Grin Thrane's fame can be attributed to his role as an accomplished Chaser with a unique, and well-known/reported story of humble beginnings, personal sacrifice, and triumph against the odds.
Mairi was born in Elgin, Scotland and started Hogwarts when she turned 11 years old. She is an only child and has no children so far, as well as no spouse. She was sorted into Ravenclaw and joined the Quidditch team in her fourth year as a keeper and played that position until her seventh year, when she took the seeker spot. She was also Quidditch captain from her sixth to her seventh year in Hogwarts. She is seen at St. Mungo's a lot because she tends to be a little reckless on her broom and ends up falling and breaking something. She tends to avoid most wizarding places and often finds herself in Muggle settings instead, preferring the anonymity.
Theo isn't shy about the fact that he swings for the other team. It was made common knowledge even before he went professional and was playing on the german local team where he grew up. So that just followed him to his professional career the knowledge that he is gay. He also is widely known to have a quick temper when set off.
Something that might be known, but Theo doesn't like to talk about is the way his brother died. When he was fifteen his brother Udo was on a training mission, and was killed by an unlikely accident where a crossfire spell was used and somehow hit him. It was a supposed dark wizard who had thrown a curse and Udo had tried to push a fellow agent that was on the mission out of the way, and instead was hit. Udo died from complications from the incident. The reason why he doesn't like to talk about it was because of rumors and speculations after that cropped up, such as, people saying that his brother was a hack, and that he had actually messed up in his training mission and caused his own death rather than being the one who was trying to save his fellow agent that was working with him as an Official Auror that day. Things became bent out of shape because of the other agent didn’t have a good memory of what went on that day, just that he had been somehow saved from the incoming spell. However, what wasn’t clear was if Udo had pushed him away from the incoming curse or if he had tripped while doing a counter spell of his own which backfired on him and while falling pushed the other agent out of harm's way getting hit instead on the way down.
