|While TNI encourages individual plots and independent investigations, we have four main groups that we utilise for site wide plot and immersive events. The following are our only official groups and no more will be accepted without full staff approval. With such fun, diverse groups to choose from, though, we're sure you'll find somewhere for your characters to be and groups to follow/affiliate/support!|
In the 1400s, the first concrete instances of Shadow magic and the first Shadow Hunters appeared. Dormant since, it was only recently, in 2023, that Fendrel Pentreath re-invented the Shadow Hunters to reflect a more modern purpose. In 2045, Fendrel’s son, Lucian Shadow, re-imagined the Shadow Hunters into the Brotherhood. Representing each of the seven deadly sins, the Brotherhood is composed of seven Core members and their seven Seconds. This most recent reincarnation has proven to be a force of nature that has shaken the very foundations and challenged the ruling principles of Wizarding society.
Those of the Brotherhood are not common Dark wizards. These men wield incredible power and influence, both in life and in the context of their powers and sin. They are accomplished wizards who draw from darkness itself, made stronger by the shadows and sinful traits of those that surround them. In search of even more power and influence, the Brotherhood has launched multiple attacks on the Wizarding and Muggle worlds alike. The calm before the storm has passed and, with the Statute of Secrecy having been ripped to shreds, their presence is likely to redefine many aspects of the Wizarding world.

|The Sirens were established as a female unit to support the Brotherhood. While they are unable to use Shadow magic, the seven Sirens also represent one of the seven deadly sins each. The Sirens provide the Brotherhood with a more dynamic hold in the Wizarding world, allowing them to get information that they might not otherwise be privy to. Talented witches in their own right, the Sirens are not to be underestimated. While they do not share the mark of the Brotherhood, they are beholden to an Unbreakable Vow to serve the Brotherhood and its interests.
Socially intelligent, beautiful, and deadly, the Sirens mostly serve as information gatherers, though they will offer tactical support during Brotherhood attacks. Ultimately, the Sirens’ greatest weapon is that no one knows of their existence. As far as the general public is concerned, the masked figures wreaking havoc on the world are all men, not a woman among them. Sirens are expected to be excellent spell casters, competent with Healing spells, and obedient to the Brotherhood at all times. To betray the Brotherhood is likely to result in death, if they’re lucky. The Sirens understand and desire the world vision the Brotherhood hopes to create.

In October of 2051, the Guardians of Light and Defenders were established in direct response to the increasingly hostile and bold moves of the unknown Brotherhood. The Brotherhood had established themselves as a group of powerful Dark wizards with solid footings in Wizarding society. Unsure of who to trust, especially with certain events suggesting that the masked men terrorising Wizarding Britain had a strong presence in the Ministry, GOLD was founded to directly challenge them by a small group of like-minded witches and wizards outside of the Ministry. Operating on the principles of democracy and equality, GOLD is still an intimate group of individuals from all walks of life and in any manner of positions throughout the Wizarding world.
While they have yet to make a proactively aggressive move against the Brotherhood, they have made moves at multiple points to hinder the Brotherhood’s progress. As of yet, the existence of the group is unknown to any outside of it. GOLD is an invite-only affair and only those with full intentions of ridding Britain of the menacing Brotherhood and even more to offer will be approached to become potential members. The vast majority of GOLD has experienced firsthand the havoc and tragedy the masked men are capable of producing. Unfortunately, the addition of militant Muggles onto the playing field has complicated matters. It remains to be seen what will happen when faced with a two-front conflict.

|Established as a direct response to the threat of magicals following the King’s Cross attack, the Secret Salem Society (SSS) is a group of non-magicals dedicated to bringing magic-users to justice and equalising the differences in power between them all. Composed of Squibs and Muggles, the SSS was established and is funded by a mysterious benefactor. Provided with high end military and medical equipment, the SSS is a state of the art organisation, though it is still finding its feet. Largely comprised of former military personnel, the SSS is headed by a Field Marshal. Directly below the Field Marshal are four Generals who support operations and head individual units.
Members of the SSS are specifically recruited. Generally speaking, most individuals in the SSS have lost someone or something to magic-users and are on the lookout for revenge. Supported by a skilled medical team and with a small squadron of scientists in the wings, the SSS does not intend to merely seek and destroy. Understandably, they want to know how magic works and how they can defend against it. The majority of them having just become aware of the existence of magic, they intend to press the limits and find answers to those pressing questions that have plagued them since King’s Cross.
