These Wizarding families have been designed to give even more of a family feel to TNI. They're families that as many as possible can get involved with. Even if you don't plan on playing one, I suggest reading through the family bios and character snippets, as there's lots of valuable information in there and hopefully all characters will have some sort of contact with Family characters.

A couple of notes: Names and details are semi-flexible; obviously, last names are staying put but if you absolutely love the character and loathe their first name, change it. Details as well are already pretty vague, but you can take the character in really any direction you like, as long as their role in the family doesn't drastically change (like a black sheep suddenly becoming a model citizen). Play-bys are negotiable. If you have any suggestions or questions, contact someone on staff!

To claim or reserve a role, just reply to this thread. You will have SEVEN days to have a completed application up or your claim/reserve will be forfeit.

Half Bloods
The Bishop Family have been in the public eye for as long as people can remember, steadily seemingly virtuous, compassionate, and philanthropic. And it’s no secret that their diverse family is important to them. EMELINE BISHOP and her husband BERTRAM (deceased) became household names after winning the muggle lottery because of their trademark, helping others: not only did a significant chunk of cash go to their families, but they got Emeline’s brother (also now deceased) out of sticky legal trouble and debt. However, in many ways their charitable ways are just a veneer; Emeline is a master manipulator underneath her kindly smile. Son REDMOND BISHOP is a mayor of their parish, an upright man who made one gargantuan mistake. His wife AMELIA BISHOP is a professor completely ignorant of her husband’s infidelity and lovechild. Facing fertility issues, they adopted four children, LINCOLN, ROMAN, JACKSON and SKYE BISHOP, and were blessed with one biological miracle baby, AMITY BISHOP. Amelia’s fertility issues weren’t the only reason they adopted so frequently; matriarch Emeline quietly pressured her son and daughter-in-law to add to the brood. Their appeal has always been their family life and adorable children.

Emeline Bishop

Phylicia Rashad. 73. Grandmother, Socialite.

Emeline is a fixture of the community. She puts forward a very prim and proper face, the one always throwing perfect parties and is elegantly dressed even for bed. Underneath the façade, she’s cunning and manipulative.

Redmond Bishop

Will Smith. 47. Mayor

Redmond has always been upright and very loyal to his family. As mayor, he tries to preserve the fine line between muggle and wizardkind. However, he made one mistake, one time. He now has a love-child out there, a well-kept secret that tortures him.

Amelia Bishop

Lucy Liu. 45. Teacher.

Amelia is very nurturing and maternal, always has been. Unfortunately, as a teenager she learned that she would always have difficulty conceiving children. Soon after her marriage to Redmond, the couple adopted their first child.

Lincoln Bishop

Travis Fimmel. 27. Mechanic

He was adopted at the age of six; he has some memories of his birth family, and curiously none of them are bad. Is a very protective big brother to all his siblings, especially his sisters.

Roman Bishop

Garrett Hedlund. 25. Auror.

Roman inherited his adoptive father’s sense of order and justice, but unfortunately is also plagued by vices. He’s falling in love with one of his informants, who is unbeknownst to him a Siren planted to seduce him.

Jackson Bishop

Taylor Lautner. 21. Healer

Adopted as a baby, Jackson often feels lost in his large family. He’s still trying to find his way, and the right girl, after having a long and tumultuous romance with a bad girl.

Amity Bishop

Zendaya Coleman. 21. Retail clerk.

Amity is the only biological child, and as a surprise (right when they were adopting Jackson!) miracle, she’s always been pampered and coddled, and it shows. She’s still very childlike and naïve, but sweet and bubbly, not horrible and spoiled. Lives for fashion.

Played by: ??

Skye Bishop

Emma Roberts. 19. Unemployed

Skye was adopted during an election year, and hasn’t disappointed since. She’s always been a loud, fun-loving girl with a definite rebellious streak as a teen. She’s boy-crazy and has put her father in a sticky situation more than once with underage drinking arrests.

Played by: Alisha

Pure Bloods
The Woodcroft Family may not be the most beloved wizarding family in the UK, but they’re the elite and very affluent. With an estate and style that screams “old money”, this clan has always had a icy cold and cruel air about them. Their mortal enemies are the infinitely trashier but somehow more beloved Goshawks.

Patriarch ARTHUR WOODCROFT is a retired high-powered businessman and a ruthless, bullying one at that; his wife, CAROLINE SCOTT is both blue-blood and cold-blooded. The two have a loveless marriage and seem quite content to live separate lives. They have had three children together. ASHER WOODCROFT is very much his father’s son and is being cuckolded by his wife, the deviously beautiful ELIZA WOODCROFT. Middle child GWENYTH WOODCROFT-MAGUIRE generated quite the scandal as a pregnant teen and has continued to do so as a problem-drinker. Gwenyth is married to EMMETT MAGUIRE and the couple has two flaxen-haired daughters, IVY and DAISY. ROSEMARY WOODCROFT-LEE, the youngest, yearns to become a mommy dearest but her husband, MICAH LEE, won’t be a father anytime soon. The Woodcrofts rule the local country club with an air of superiority, and delight with their wicked and conniving ways.

Arthur Woodcroft

Bill Nighy. 70. CEO of Cleansweep, Retired.

While his rival Owen Goshawk was more charismatic, Arthur has always been intimidating and slightly mysterious. Terrifying in the boardroom and domineering at home, he always gets his way.

Caroline Woodcroft

Meryl Streep. 65. Socialite

Caroline is the least subtle of the scheming matriarchs. She’s cold, and nearly everything she says to the women in the other families could be followed by a “bitch”. She never says it, but her flinty blue eyes talk for her.

Asher Woodcroft

Ryan Phillippe. 39. CEO Cleansweep.

Asher is following in his father’s footsteps. However, he’s distracted at the moment, obsessively convinced that his wife is cheating on him.

Eliza Woodcroft

Kate Beckinsale. 29. Socialite

Eliza is a femme fatale, and she’s doing an excellent job. So far she’s had two affairs during her short marriage, and now has her sights set on Simon Goshawk and maybe even her own brothers-in-law.

Gwenyth Woodcroft-Maguire

Diane Kruger. 36. Homemaker.

Gwen became a mother at a young age, and never had a chance to have a proper childhood. Now that her girls are in their teens, she’s going a little wild, and has become a lush.
Important Notes: Has had an ongoing feud with the Goshawk sisters for decades now.

Emmett Maguire

Michael Fassbender. 36. Wizengamot

Cold and calculating, he fell out of love with his wife years ago. As an everlasting cliché, he sleeps with his assistants at the ministry.

Ivy Maguire

Ashley Olsen. 17. Student.

Ivy is a complete mean girl, and is always in a power struggle with Antonia Cruz to see who will really rule the school. Secretly incredibly insecure and emotionally fragile.

Daisy Maguire

Elizabeth Olsen. 15. Student

Daisy is a breath of fresh air in an oftentimes cold and cruel family. She’s a social butterfly, and best friends with Olivia Cruz, much to her family’s dismay.

Rosemary Woodcroft-Lee

January Jones. 31. Socialite.

Rosemary is the definition of a desperate housewife. She’s bored, always bored, and has a slew of bad habits. She’s a closet drinker, smoker, and shoplifter. Doesn’t get along with any of her siblings.
Important Notes: Has been trying to conceive for a while but it’s not working.

Micah Lee

James Franco. 31. Artist

As a painter, he’s seen somewhat as a bum by the judgmental Woodcrofts, though his works sell for top dollar. He’s incredibly unhappy in his marriage and has secretly had a vasectomy; he doesn’t want to have kids with Rosemary.
Important Notes: Is a closeted gay man.

Half Bloods

Since they first came into the public eye, the Elphick Family consistently remain popular in the wizarding world. Like the Bishops, they’re seen as the “good guys”, but are much more entertainingly dysfunctional. Their mantra seems to be that “we love each other, but we don’t have to like each other” and each member’s personal dramas have really added a lot to the local newspapers.

OWEN ELPHICK, the family patriarch, is now a shadow of his former charming and confident self, plagued by regret and doubts.
SUSAN ELPHICK, matriarch, chews the scenery with her priceless side-eyes and silent judgment (of the Woodcrofts, especially). The couple have a massive brood, with six children.
ATTICUS ELPHICK, the eldest, is a sensitive widower with a beautiful young daughter, ALEXANDRA.
Fraternal twins SIMON ELPHICK and SAMANTHA ELPHICK-CRUZ couldn’t be more different from each other; Simon’s a toxic bachelor and Samantha has a family she adores.
Samantha has a husband, SALVADOR CRUZ, and three gorgeous daughters: AUGUSTA and ANTONIA (identical twins!), and younger daughter OLIVIA.
Younger sister JOSEPHINE ELPHICK has provided years and years worth of complex relationship drama, and has three sons, ADRIAN, EMANUEL, and KANE. Both her and her sister live at the compound with their families and work together, making for some of the most entertaining fights that always end well.
The youngest sons, RAYMOND ELPHICK and JOHN “MICKEY” MCEWEN have been friends since childhood. In fact, when Mickey’s parents died, the Elphick's took him in and officially made him a part of the family.

Owen Elphick

Sir Ian McKellen. 75. Former MoM.

At first, he was the charmer and one of the most charismatic personalities around town, but in his old age is filled with regrets. Because he flirts dangerously with outing wizarding kind, he is often treated as a senile old fool, even by his wife.

Susan Elphick

Helen Mirren. 70. Socialite

Susan tends to be portrayed as a regal and elegant woman, but she is a schemer behind the scenes, and craves attention. Has been in a heated rivalry with the Woodcroft family for decades.

Atticus Elphick

Ewan McGregor. 45. Arithmancer

Atticus has always been straight-laced and lived his life by the books. However, he fell madly in love with his wife, Lucy, who sadly died in a car crash five years ago. Since then, he’s climbed out of a depression with a new outlook on life and is ready to love again.

Played by: ??

Alexandra Elphick

Anna Popplewell. 16. Student

Alexandra is a star student at school, usually a good girl, but has fallen for a boy from the wrong side of the tracks.

Played by: ??

Simon Elphick

Jason Bateman. 43. Journalist, Daily Prophet.

Simon has always been the toxic bachelor, and it wouldn’t be too surprising if he had a kid or two running around that he’s never met. He’s notorious for jumping around from career to career and from woman to woman.

Played by: JD

Samantha Elphick-Cruz

Lauren Graham. 43. Owner, Daily Bread

Unlike her sister, Samantha has a business head and is incredibly focused. However, at home with a few glasses of wine and her husband by her side, she finally unwinds.

Salvador Cruz

Jeffrey Dean Morgan. 45. Healer.

Salvador is a heartthrob with a charmingly thick accent who actually loves his wife and daughters.

Augusta Cruz

Danielle Campbell. 17. Student

The shier, more serious twin, Augusta loves to lose herself in a good book. She has aspirations of being a writer someday, and her imagination is always running wild.
Important Notes: Identical twin sister of Antonia.

Played by: ??

Antonia Cruz

Danielle Campbell. 17. Student.

Antonia’s the wild, boy-crazy twin. She’s the queen bee at school and a cheerleader to boot. Can definitely be a brat and a bitch.
Important Notes: Identical twin sister of Augusta.

Played by: Shadow

Olivia Cruz

Bailee Madison. 15. Student.

Olivia’s the quirky daughter. The twins have always gotten a lot of attention, but she’s poised to steal the spotlight.

Played by: Sami

Josephine Elphick

Mary Louise Parker. 38. Baker, Daily Bread.

Josephine is the exact opposite of her big sister, which makes their working relationship often contentious. Jo is flighty, flakey, and often a complete wreck. She’s always picking the worst possible men.
Important Notes: Has three sons, all with different fathers. Was very briefly married to all three fathers. Changed her and her sons’ surnames back to her maiden. Living back at home with parents and children for financial reasons.

Adrian Elphick

Zac Efron. 20. Musician.

The oldest, Adrian is the most stable of his brothers, often having to keep them and his mother on track. A very talented singer, beloved by all.

Emanuel Elphick

Gaspard Ulliel. 18. Student.

Emanuel is dark and brooding. Many of the ladies love it, and he definitely loves them back.

Kane Elphick

Robert Sheehan. 16. Student.

Kane is a troubled young man, angry and destructive. There’s been a rash of vandalism around lately, and so far he hasn’t been caught…

Raymond Elphick

Henry Cavill. 30. Ministry.

Ray is a solid, sweet guy who for some reason can’t seem to find a fully functioning relationship. In fact, current girlfriend is still in a coma and he’s staying by her side. Maybe.

Played by: ??

John 'Mickey' McEwan

Charlie Hunnam. 30. Adopted son.

Mickey is a down to earth guy with some vices. Though he loves his adopted family, he doesn’t exactly feel like he’s one of them. Lifelong friend of Ray’s, adopted when his parents died.

Played by: ??

The Goshawk Family are new to the public eye after finding out they were related to Godric Gryffindor (albeit INCREDIBLY distantly) and with their unique take on things and their impossible good looks the newspapers and magazines love them!

Patriarch CONRAD GOSHAWK is the greedy, famewhoring reason the family has moved from the United States. His wife ALICE GOSHAWK, struggling mightily with the bottle, reluctantly signed on (she always defers to her husband’s wants and needs above her own). Their lovely children, GEMMA, SAMARA, and CHARLIE GOSHAWK are young, beautiful, and with different but still charismatic personalities, they’re the ones they think the world will want to see for decades and decades to come. The other Founding Families are bound to resent these fresh-faced interlopers.

Conrad Goshawk

Daniel Craig. 46. Real Estate Developer.

Conrad wants people to think he is a shrewd, commanding businessman, but really he’s an attention-hungry, greedy little manipulator, latching onto the precarious link in the family tree for the everlasting fame and glory. Womanizer who frequently cheats on his wife.

Alice Goshawk

Amy Yasbeck. 45. Real Estate Agent

Long ago, Alice made Conrad’s life her life. She works in the same field as him, had the children he wanted but she herself wasn’t sure about, and looks the other way as he has his various dalliances. She’s a closet drinker, but it’s becoming harder and harder to hide.

Gemma Goshawk

Jane Levy. 21. Ministry.

Gemma is the most serious of her siblings, as a sort of substitute mother, often pinch-hitting for her frequently “out of it” (aka drunk) mother. She’s the secret-keeper of her family, the only one really aware that her dad cheats and her mom drinks. As such, she’s a stress-case who can be incredibly hard on herself.

Played by: ??

Samara Goshawk

Anna Lutoskin. 19. Unemployed

Samara doesn’t want to be here, and she can’t make that loud and clear enough. She’s a rebel, with a biting sense of humor and an enormous chip on her shoulder. She’s definitely a troublemaker, and doesn’t even bother trying to sneak boys in and out of her room.

Played by: Zoey

Dante Goshawk

William Moseley. 17. Student.

Dante has one hell of a temper, especially now that he’s been torn from his life and his friends (and girlfriend!) to live here, in a fishbowl. Is a promising quarterback, and would have been poised for an athletic scholarship at a top college, so he does have plenty of reasons to be angry.

Played by: Dante
